Despite feeling a little flattered when finding what looks like a forgery of a piece of my artwork, if that what it is, it really won't do. My image of the page is not good but the page looks nicely drawn with some fine pen work. The signature at the bottom looks like mine as does the penciled page identification next to it, so well done if forged. I have tried to contact the web page where the page in question is featured. An attractive page someone might well want to buy it but not I believe an original Ranson. On the same website there was another piece mis- labeled as mine but that was just a mis-attribution. Careless rather than criminal. I wouldn't know but does this kind of thing happen? Are any measures and checks in place to prevent it? We should be told.
March 2017. Guy turned up at 2000AD fest asking me to sign the artwork ( top one) that I had written this blog about.
I am an idiot. The work was obviously mine - even had a false start to another page of Anderson on the back. Have no recollection of redrawing that Satan/temple page and in comparing the first try with the second no clear idea of what made me do it a second time. As i said - idiot.
