Hillary L. Chute is an American literary scholar and expert on comics and graphic narratives.
She is Distinguished Professor of English and Art and Design at Northeastern University.
Her most recent book is ‘Why Comics? From Underground to Everywhere’.
I have not yet read it but included in the internet article I saw about the book was the top attached image from Daniel Clowes' 'Ice Haven' and it seemed to me that it alone was food for thought and worth sharing.

Review of 'Ice Haven' at -
