25/05/2023  IT STILL SEEMS A LITTLE ODD FOR TO ME TO BE SHOWING OFF PICTURES DONE FOR MY OWN AMUSEMENT BUT HERE THEY ARE.

Hi Arthur,

Shades of Ray Harryhausen in that last image there, a great sense of scale.

I hope all's well!

Andy.

Hullo Andy,

can't see a Harryhausen connection myself.

Remember first seeing his sword-fighting skeletons. Since overtaken by technology but he was great in his day.

Best,

Arthur

Hi Arthur,

I was thinking of Talos, the giant metal statue that comes to life in the Argonauts film ( same source as the skeletons ).

It's a fabulous, timeless  image you've created there.

All the Best,

Andy.

Hullo Andy,

right.

You obviously have a better recollection of the film than I do. Don't remember that bit.

Best,

Arthur

Hullo Andy,

time in the cinema is not misspent.

As a teen I lived at a time and place where it was possible to see a different double feature seven times a week - which I was known to do. Four cinemas, weekly change of programme and something different for Sundays.

Prior to that was 'Saturday morning pictures' - kids programme with organ recital, cartoon. serial and main feature.

Plus sing a long -

" We come along on Saturday morning greeting everybody with a smile.

We come along on Saturday morning knowing it is all worthwhile  . . . "

Happy days.

Best,

Arthur

Hi Arthur,

Halcyon days indeed! My cinema going began in the late 60s and early 70s when you were still guaranteed of a double feature. The ads were so slick and cinematic by then that I was often convinced I'd come to see the wrong film!

All the Best,

Andy.
